Within
the framework of “In situ Conservation of Plant Genetic Diversity
in Turkey Project”, genetic diversity of Anatolian black pine populations
from Kazdağı was investigated by seedling traits. Cones were collected
from 315 trees by random sampling. Then, seeds were sown in a nursery
by complete randomized design as 3 replicates. Seedlings were investigated
for two years for 8 seedling characteristics.
Variation
between populations were observed for only date of bud set in 1996 trait.
Families were different for growth traits. Moreover family heritabilities
were not significant due to variation within families. Genetic distances
estimated for the populations showed that populations are not differentiated
significantly.
As
a result Eybekli, Mıhlıdere and Gürgendağ populations were recommended
as “Gene Management Zone - GMZ”.
Key
Words: Pinus nigra, genetic diversity, heritability, GMZ.
