Objective:
To determine and compare the genetic diversity and changes in amount and
pattern of genetic diversity in Turkish red pine seed stands, seed orchards
and plantations originated from these stands by using molecular markers.
Data obtained will be evaluated to determine the amount of genetic diversity
and changes in genetic diversity in seed stands, seed orchards and plantations.
Results of the study (genetic diversity, genetic distances of populations)
will be used in tree breeding and gene conservation practices.
Activities:
Seed collection and extraction works has been completed. DNA isolation,
PCR amplification and running on gels works are still going on.
