Variation Of Natural Black Pine (Pinus Nigra Arnold Subsp. Pallasiana
(Lamb.)Holmboe) Populations Sampled
From The Bolkar Mountains
|
In this study, which was supported by the World Bank as a part of “In-situ
Conservation of Plant Genetic Diversity Project”, to determine the magnitude
and pattern of genetic diversity Anatolian Black pine (Pinus nigra Arnold
subspecies pallasiana (Lamb.) Holmboe) populations (Çamlıyayla, Ulukışla,
Cehennemdere and Gülekdere) isozymes were investigated.
24 loci were resolved for the 14 enzyme systems assayed. Polymorphism was
47.9% on the average. The mean number of alleles per locus was around 1.6
and the expected heterozygosity was about 21%. Genetic diversity among
populations relative to the total genetic diversity was averaged as 0.070,
indicating that only 7% of the total genetic diversity was among populations.
Furthermore, Nei’s genetic distance values were used to construct a dendogram
confirming that the diversity among populations was not very high.
Finally,
based on the results of this study, it is recommended that Ulukışla and
Gülekdere populations could be considered as Gene Management Zones - GMZ
in the Bolkar Mountains.
